Overview: Mkomazi National Park is located in northern Tanzania, nestled between Moshi and Tanga. It is framed by the Pare and Usambara mountains, with occasional views of Mount Kilimanjaro depending on the weather. The park features a distinctive landscape of dry, desert-like vegetation in the Sahel zone, predominantly acacia-commiphora woodlands, transitioning to dry land forest in the western mountains.

The primary water source is the Umba River in the southeast, which becomes a focal point for wildlife spotting due to the park's low annual precipitation.
